NFT giveaways

What it is

Next to the regular giveaways, you can give away NFTs in a public chat. The NFTs are taken from your Cosmobot wallet and handed out to the first people to claim, one NFT each.

NFT giveaways work on Cosmos Hub and Injective, and so does the elite variant. Both #nftgiveaway and #elitenftgiveaway accept a collection on either chain - you name the collection by its alias and the bot knows which chain it is on. Each collection belongs to one chain, and #nftbalances groups them by chain because the deposit address differs - see below.

All the instructions are also built into the bot. Send the following to @ibc_cosmobot in DM:

Supported collections

Only whitelisted collections can be given away. Ask @cosmosrescue to get a collection added.

An NFT from a collection that is not supported is still safe in your Cosmobot wallet and can always be withdrawn, but it will not appear in #nftbalances and cannot be given away. To withdraw it, use the collection's contract address in place of the collection name.

Rarity ranks are shown only for the collections that have them. Unranked collections show token ids only.

Checking what you hold

Send the following to Cosmobot in DM:

#nftbalances

It lists the supported collections you hold NFTs in, with a button per collection to browse them, 10 at a time. Tapping an NFT shows its image and a link to it on its marketplace - Stargaze for Cosmos Hub, Talis for Injective. Each collection view also shows a ready-made #nftgiveaway command with your ids already filled in.

Your deposit address is shown in the same message.

Tipping a single NFT

A giveaway is for a chat. To give one NFT to one specific person, reply to their message with #tip - see NFT tipping.

Fees

Creating a giveaway costs a little $ATOM from your Cosmobot wallet. It pays for moving the NFTs into escrow and prepays the later distribution transaction, so keep some $ATOM there.

If nobody claims, that prepaid amount comes back to you together with the NFTs.

Creating a giveaway

To create an NFT giveaway - send the #nftgiveaway command in a public chat in the following format:

#nftgiveaway <contract-alias> <id1,id2,id3>

<contract-alias> is the short name in brackets, not the display name. Send #nftbalances to Cosmobot in DM and it lists them:

Bad snails (badsnails) - 1
Expedition (expedition) - 0
Babu Pengus (babupengus) - 0

So the collection shown as "Babu Pengus" is typed as babupengus.

Only whitelisted collections have one. The collection's full contract address works in the same position:

It still has to be a whitelisted collection either way.

For instance:

It will give away 3 NFTs to the first 3 unique telegram users. The number of NFTs is the number of winners. Ids can be typed with or without spaces after the commas, so this works as well:

A maximum of 100 NFTs can be given away in one giveaway.

The giveaway is posted as a single image with all the NFTs in it, each one numbered with its position, and a claim button that shows how many spots are taken.

Elite NFT giveaways

The elite variant lets only users with enough staked $ATOM claim. Send the #elitenftgiveaway command in a public chat in the following format:

#elitenftgiveaway <contract-alias> <id1,id2,id3> min <minimum staked>

For instance: 

#elitenftgiveaway badsnails 254,469,542 min 100

It will give away 3 NFTs, where each claimer must have at least 100 $ATOM staked (7-day average).

The requirement is always staked $ATOM, whichever chain the NFTs are on. Giving away an Injective collection does not change it: claimers still prove staked $ATOM, and the NFTs still arrive at their Injective address.

The word min is what separates the ids from the minimum, so it has to be there. Without it the ids and the minimum cannot be told apart, and the command is refused rather than guessed at:

#elitenftgiveaway badsnails 254, 469

is two ids with the minimum forgotten, not one id with a minimum of 469, so it does nothing. Ids can be typed with spaces after the commas here as well, as long as min is present:

Eligibility works exactly like it does for elite giveaways: claimers link their own wallets via the Cosmobot Elite mini app at t.me/ibc_cosmobot/elite or at elite.cosmosrescue.com, and the 7-day average staked $ATOM is summed across their eligible linked wallets. Users who are not eligible get the rejection as a DM rather than in the group chat.

How claiming works

First come, first served. Claim order decides which NFT you get: the first claimer gets the first id listed, the second claimer the second one, and so on. The giveaway image numbers every NFT with its position, so it is visible before anyone claims.

Claimers have to be present in the group where the giveaway is held.

The giveaway is distributed once all NFTs are claimed or after 3 hours, whichever comes first. Anything nobody claimed goes back to the creator.

What winners get

Every winner receives a DM naming exactly which NFT they got, with a link to it on its marketplace. The chat post is updated with the list of claimers.

The NFT is held in the winner's Cosmobot wallet. #withdraw moves it to their own wallet.

Troubleshooting

"You do not hold #254" - the NFT is not in your Cosmobot wallet, or it is listed for sale on its marketplace. A listed NFT is held by the marketplace until you delist it. Use #nftbalances to see what the bot actually holds for you.

"#254 is listed twice" - the same id appears more than once in the list. One NFT can only be given away, or withdrawn, once. List every id once and send the command again. Nothing was moved.

"Images for badsnails are not synced yet" - the collection is not ready yet. Contact @cosmosrescue.

"Not enough $ATOM to cover the giveaway" - send a little $ATOM to your deposit address and try again. Both the escrow transaction and the prepaid distribution are paid from your Cosmobot wallet.

"That NFT collection is not supported" - ask @cosmosrescue to whitelist it. Until then those NFTs cannot be given away, but they can still be withdrawn with the collection's contract address.
