Deposits and withdrawals

Everything you tip or give away comes out of your Cosmobot wallet, so this page comes first. It applies equally to Tipping, NFT tipping, Giveaways, NFT giveaways, Staked $ATOM tipping and Staked $ATOM giveaways.

Your Cosmobot wallet

Each user gets their own on-chain addresses, managed by Cosmobot. There is one address per chain, and NFTs use the very same address as the coin on their chain - a Cosmos Hub NFT uses your $ATOM address, an Injective NFT your $INJ one. There is no separate NFT wallet and no separate NFT deposit address.

Addresses are created the first time you ask for them and never change afterwards, so an address can be reused for every later deposit.

Depositing coins and tokens

Every user gets their own on-chain address per coin, managed by Cosmobot. Send the following to Cosmobot in DM and use the "Show deposit address" button:

Or ask for one coin directly, with the coin appended to the command:

#tipdeposit<coin>

For instance: 

#tipdepositatom

The address is created the first time you ask for it and never changes afterwards, so it can be reused for every later deposit of that coin.

Depositing NFTs

NFTs go to the deposit address of the chain the collection is on: Cosmos Hub NFTs to your $ATOM address, Injective NFTs to your $INJ address. Sending an NFT to the address of the other chain does not arrive. #nftbalances lists collections grouped by chain with the matching address under each, and so does the deposit address button in #tipmenu.

Only NFTs that are actually in your Cosmobot wallet can be given away.

An NFT listed for sale on its marketplace is held by the marketplace, not by you, so it cannot be given away. Delist it first.

Depositing staked $ATOM

$ATOM staked with a validator has to be turned into tokenized shares first. Cosmobot cannot do it for you; you can do it for example in Moonkitt - see Staked $ATOM giveaways.

The shares then go to your Cosmos Hub deposit address, the same address you deposit $ATOM to. There is no separate address for them.

Checking your balances

Send #tipmenu to Cosmobot in DM. It has a button for each kind of balance: native coins, tokens, testnet coins, NFTs and staked $ATOM. #nftbalances goes straight to the NFT view, which also shows the deposit address for each chain that has collections, at the bottom. #stakedbalances goes straight to the staked $ATOM view.

Withdrawing coins and tokens

To send coins out of your Cosmobot wallet, send the #withdraw command to Cosmobot in DM:

#withdraw <amount> <currency> <address>

For instance: 

#withdraw 1.7 tia celestia1lmjkkxje0x5pllhjspcg6whk47r0ll8kcztm8w

withdraws 1.7 $TIA to that address. Sending #tipwithdraw to Cosmobot shows the same instructions in chat.

Keep enough of the chain's gas coin in your wallet to cover the transaction fee. For tokens, the chain's native coin is what pays the fee. Copy the destination address exactly - a withdrawal to a wrong address cannot be recovered.

Withdrawing NFTs

The same #withdraw command, with the collection's alias where the amount would go:

#withdraw <contract-alias> <id1,id2> <your cosmos address>

<contract-alias> is the short name in brackets in #nftbalances, not the display name - the collection shown as "Babu Pengus" is typed as babupengus.

For instance: 

#withdraw badsnails 254 cosmos1w9ee57gnduzm4l9h6xwn9tee9pyh8wlr4r9r35

Several at once: 

#withdraw badsnails 254,469 cosmos1w9ee57gnduzm4l9h6xwn9tee9pyh8wlr4r9r35

From a collection Cosmobot does not support, use its contract address in place of the alias: 

#withdraw cosmos1tn2ghxezcvy0lwzdlgwrlra0lu0zay373gpw706pchwg5fkvjgpqzv9e2f 254 cosmos1w9ee57gnduzm4l9h6xwn9tee9pyh8wlr4r9r35

This is the one place a contract address reaches a collection that is not whitelisted, and it is deliberate: an NFT deposited by mistake from an unsupported collection can always be taken back out. Tipping and giveaways do not allow that.

You need a little $ATOM in your Cosmobot wallet for the transaction fee. Copy the destination address exactly: an NFT sent to a wrong address cannot be recovered.

Withdrawing staked $ATOM

The same #withdraw command, with stakedatom where the currency goes and the validator after it:

#withdraw <amount> stakedatom <validator address> <your cosmos address>

For instance: 

#withdraw 1 stakedatom cosmosvaloper1hkqejlyrj9h8knms9hwvrnp9xhqvjqlseh06vq cosmos1w9ee57gnduzm4l9h6xwn9tee9pyh8wlr4r9r35

<validator address> is the cosmosvaloper1... address, not the validator's name - tap a validator in #stakedbalances to get it.

It arrives as tokenized shares, still staked. Redeeming turns them back into staked $ATOM; Cosmobot cannot do it for you, and you can do it for example in Moonkitt - see Staked $ATOM giveaways.

Staked $ATOM cannot pay its own gas, so keep a little ordinary $ATOM in your Cosmobot wallet for the fee.
